Assistant Director - Research Software Engineering
Chris Bentley serves as an Assistant Director, to the Reseach Software Engineering Center bringing extensive leadership experience in operational resilience, organizational governance, and continuous improvement within higher education IT environments. He supports mission‑driven programs and strategic initiatives through a focus on operational excellence, cross‑functional collaboration, and long‑term sustainability.
Chris previously served as an Operational Resilience leader at Purdue University, where he provided enterprise leadership for Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and compliance with ISO certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO 20000‑1, ISO 27001, and ISO 22301. His work included facilitating tabletop exercises, strengthening institutional preparedness, and driving continuous improvement across multiple IT organizations. Earlier in his career, he held leadership and management roles across Purdue IT, including positions within IT Strategic Initiatives and as an IT Service Manager supporting the College of Health and Human Sciences.
In addition to his administrative leadership, Chris serves as Adjunct Faculty at Purdue Global, teaching IT support courses aligned with the Google Support Certificate, and at Ivy Tech Community College, where he teaches Project Management. He is recognized for his leadership, organizational expertise, and commitment to professional development.
