Scheduled Bell Maintenance – May 18

Bell maintenance has completed, and the cluster is now available for logins and new job submissions. We have resumed normal scheduling and are monitoring Bell closely following the extended maintenance window. If you encounter any issues on Bell, please contact rcac-help@purdue.edu.

Our bell system maintenance, originally scheduled to end yesterday and then extended to 10:00 a.m. today, is still in progress and will require additional time. Scratch remains unavailable at this time. We are extending the outage to 1:00 p.m. today. We are actively working with our vendor to restore the bell system as soon as possible and will provide updates if anything changes.

The scheduled maintenance for the BELL system is taking longer than expected and has been extended. We now anticipate maintenance will be completed by 10:00 AM (ET) on Tuesday, May 19.
During this time, BELL will remain unavailable. We will provide updates if the timeline changes.

Bell will be undergoing planned maintenance and a minor operating system upgrade on Monday, May 18. This work will also affect the Bell scratch filesystem.
- Maintenance work will start around 8:00 AM and should end by 5:00 PM Monday, May 18.
- A reservation is in place starting at 3:00 AM on May 18 so new jobs do not run into the maintenance window.
- Jobs that would run during the maintenance period should be scheduled for another time.
- We will send out an update when maintenance is complete or we have more information to share.
